Get Access to Mathematica Desktop

Licensing Access (Single Machine)
  1. Go to https://www.wolfram.com/siteinfo/
  2. Type in your George Mason University email address and click Continue
  3. Click the link to download Mathematica for your operating system
  4. When prompted to activate through your organization (SSO), sign in with your George Mason University login (for details, see instructions: https://support.wolfram.com/54713)

(Note: The first time that you sign in using your school login, you will be prompted to link it to your Wolfram ID if you already have a Wolfram ID associated with your Mason email address.)

Licensing Access (Networks—for network administrators only)
  1. Go to https://www.wolfram.com/siteinfo/
  2. Type in your George Mason University email address and click Continue
  3. Under the Mathematica Download link, click the link to request a network license key
  4. Fill out the form and click the link to access your new network license
  5. Download, install and activate MathLM on your license server by following these instructions: https://support.wolfram.com/39082
  6. Download and install Mathematica on the client machines by following these instructions: https://support.wolfram.com/10928
  7. When prompted to activate the product on the client machines, select “Other ways to activate” and follow these instructions to connect the product to MathLM: https://reference.wolfram.com/language/tutorial/ActivatingMathematica.html#25353338

  1. Go to https://www.wolframcloud.com/?setsessiontheme=MONLINE
  2. If prompted to sign in, type in your George Mason University email address and select the option to sign in using your George Mason University NetID and password (Note: The first time that you sign in using your school login, you will be prompted to link it to your Wolfram ID if you already have a Wolfram ID associated with your Mason email address.)

The Wolfram Early Professionals Program is intended for recent graduates or professionals early in their careers. Through this program, you’ll receive a free, six-month Mathematica Early Professionals License, so you can continue using Mathematica for both professional and personal use.

How do I enroll?
  1. Go to https://account.wolfram.com/access/early-professionals and sign in with a Wolfram ID
  2. Provide your contact information
  3. Tell Wolfram when and from where you earned your degree
  4. Provide your LinkedIn or link to your resume and your plans for the six months following graduation
  5. Add Mathematica/Wolfram Language as a skill on your resume and/or LinkedIn profile
  6. Join the Wolfram Early Professionals LinkedIn group (if you have a LinkedIn profile)
  7. That’s it! As long as you’ve graduated within the past year (or will be graduating with your final degree soon), you’re in!

Getting Help

ITS may provide these software applications via Software Center, JAMF, or other endpoint management systems. ITS staff may assist users in installing the application for supported operating systems. ITS staff have not necessarily received training on the application and do not support the functional operation of the application but will refer users to self-support sites, Mason instructors, vendors, or departmental support when known.
