Learning Space Design Assessment

Learning Space Design supports the design, engineering, and project management of AV technologies in formal and informal learning spaces across all GMU campuses. The team also provides AV design consultations for classrooms and conference rooms to include recommendations for equipment, project timeline, and AV vendor.  Depending on the scope of your AV project, our team may suggest the use of an AV design consultant and/or AV contractor.

How We Can Help

ITS offers consultation services, which include:

  • Requirements gathering and the assessment of learning spaces
  • Design and develop standard AV systems that maximize the affordability of learning spaces
  • Project management of a standard classroom system installation
  • Vendor coordination and project management of system installations

To start the process, you will need the following information:

  • Location and additional rooms to be assessed
  • How the room will be used (e.g., conference room, technology-assisted classroom, etc.)
  • Normal users of space (students, faculty, staff)
  • Technology support plan (daily support)
  • Project budget amount
  • Due Date

To start the process, select the Request Help button.

Additional Information

New requests are reviewed on a weekly basis. A project manager will contact you after that to schedule a consultation.

For existing classroom designs and AV systems, see the STERN Center Classroom Guide.
